Mason and Nina-Serena’s Wedding!
We’re getting married on 9/3/2022
In 2018 at Sankofa Bookstore we were introduced by our mutual mentor Dr. Keith Hunter. Despite Nina’s elegance, Mason does not remember this meeting.
One year later Mason mistook Nina’s friendliness for seduction and initiated his pursuit. In October of 2020 he proposed at a mountainside waterfall to ensure their love would be everflowing through matrimony.
That which binds Us
We share a deep passion for the practice of Sankofa, an ancient African principle that means “if you forgot what you lost, it is not taboo to find it.” Specifically, we enjoy applying aspects of African history and culture to the present.
You, as our family contribute to the peace and joy of our relationship. And of course, being science nerds helps!
What our future holds
We have a clear vision for building a strong, loving, and committed family unit. As we do so we will build our enterprise, The Pattern House of Olonade, which will advance the African aesthetic.
After uniting, we will reclaim our African roots through being known as Mason and Nina-Serena Olonade.
We are thrilled to have you initiate us on this path forward at our ceremony, for as you know, the Zulu proverb says, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu, or “because of you, we are.”
There will be an open bar, so this is an adults only celebration.
African attire is desired, but not required. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s.
If you would like your own custom African-inspired attire, contact Mason
Full vaccination in addition to booster is required to attend.
Email proof of vaccination to Nina 14 days BEFORE the ceremony date.
There is no obligation to get us a gift.
If you still desire to celebrate us in that way, you can donate through Cash App here
